Hi, I’m Advait! I study Computer Science at the University of Waterloo but work in cybersecurity. I’ve been passionate about security every since I read Hackers by Steven Levy and watched too much Mr. Robot. I’m a big fan of the MIT Railroad Club’s Original definition of the word “hacker” -- I love being able to get computers to do odd things they’re not meant to do!

1. A person who enjoys exploring the details of programmable systems and how to stretch their capabilities, as opposed to most users, who prefer to learn only the minimum necessary. RFC1392, the Internet Users' Glossary, usefully amplifies this as: A person who delights in having an intimate understanding of the internal workings of a system, computers and computer networks in particular.

To me, cybersecurity is the cat-and-mouse game that best embodies this dynamic. Since these original moments of inspiration in high school, I’ve tried to learn as much as I can about this world — whether it be my coursework in university, my blue teaming Security+ and CySA+ Certifications, my eJPT pentesting cert, or my three terms working in cybersecurity — two at Dawson Partners and one at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC).

Outside of work, I’m a competitive debater, football fan (COYS), and someone who enjoys good coffee and great books. I’m currently looking for a cybersecurity engineering or analyst internship for Summer and Fall 2026—feel free to reach out if you’d like to connect!
