👋🏽 Hi, I'm Advait.
Hi, I’m Advait! I study Computer Science at the University of Waterloo but work in cybersecurity. I’ve been passionate about security every since I read Hackers by Steven Levy and watched too much Mr. Robot. I’m a big fan of the MIT Railroad Club’s Original definition of the word “hacker” — I love being able to get computers to do odd things they’re not meant to do!
To me, cybersecurity is the cat-and-mouse game that best embodies this dynamic. Since these original moments of inspiration in high school, I’ve tried to learn as much as I can about this world — whether it be my coursework in university, my blue teaming Security+ and CySA+ Certifications, my eJPT pen-testing cert, or my three terms working in cybersecurity — two at Dawson Partners and one at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC).
My biggest hobby outside of work is competitive debate: my debate partner Alex and I recently became the first team since 1991 from Waterloo to reach the elimination rounds at Worlds. I wrote incredibly vulnerably about this journey that started back in high school in the Substack below:
I’m currently looking for a cybersecurity engineering or analyst internship for Fall 2026 and Winter 2027—feel free to reach out if you’d like to connect!
